1924 an idea to create a building where the community could gather and those that were serving in the war had a place to meet. Opening its doors for the first time in 1926 Memorial Hall was the place where soldiers would indulge in spaghetti suppers, their families would enjoy black and white films, roller skating nights were the hot night out, and where the community held basketball games, graduations, and so much more. Our history is rich and it all started when the Hedge House was moved. Most would say the rest is history but that is not the least, Memorial Hall has seen many A Lister performances and many faces over its time here each person with a different story and more to share. Days turn into weeks and into years, we are excited to celebrate that with you. Come be apart of History.
Rolling Thunder Revue was a the show that made it all happen. With thousands showing up, a line the wrapped the block, and endless memories of this show. Bob Dylan made Plymouth Memorial Hall the place to be when he entered the door with a group of musicians that left lasting impressions.
It is safe to say that Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra calls Memorial Hall their home, with America's Hometown Orchestra delighting audiences for over 100 seasons.
Memorial Hall has seen the likes of Twisted Sister, Air Supply, Michael McDonald, Robert Cray, Melissa Etheridge, Pat Benatar and so many more. The halls can talk with the stories that have taken place in our little hometown.
